Empowering the Future of Territorial Cooperation: The CPMR’s involvement in the IVY initiative

Since 2020, the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) and its Geographical Commissions have embarked on an enriching journey by hosting Interreg Youth Volunteers (IVY). This initiative has proven to be a catalyst for innovation, injecting a fresh perspective and nurturing the future of territorial cooperation within European territories.

Our engagement with IVYs has been instrumental in the successful implementation of various Interreg Atlantic Area and Interreg MED projects.

hosting IVYs has offered us the unique chance to witness the professional growth of these young individuals. Through training and mentorship, we have seen them evolve into skilled professionals, ready to take on the challenges of the European Territorial Cooperation landscape. One of the remarkable outcomes of this initiative is the lasting impact on the career paths of our IVYs. It brings us immense joy to witness that the majority of our former IVYs are currently gainfully employed in roles directly connected to European Territorial Cooperation.

The CPMR is very honored to receive the IVY badge, a symbol of our significant commitment to this high-impact initiative. Based on our positive experiences, we wholeheartedly recommend the Interreg Youth Volunteers initiative to organizations seeking a dynamic infusion of talent and a commitment to fostering the future of European cooperation.
